Upcycling

Thanks to a recent interest in all things crafty, and a massive spending spree (well you can never stop buying crafting goods). I had a rather large and unruly pile of crafting necessities. Thanks to pintrest and other up-cycling sites and a distinctive lack of moola I've turned decidedly thrifty, not always a good plan when it comes to storage. But after falling in love with pegboards on Pintrest I just had to have one for my craft goodies. But alas I nearly fell at the first hurdle, peg board is rare and very expensive in the UK. I searched high and lo to no avail. Then I found some suitable board languishing in the attic, could I make my own peg board???

Using the board, some undercoat and gloss I already had I set to work measuring and drilling holes. lots of holes! Left will slightly squiggly eyesight and vibration hands from all the drilling I had made it! After painting it and hanging it on the wall, all I had to purchase was some hooks. The end product :

The finishing touches some up cycled spray painted tin cans, an old toast rack and a quick trip to ikea for the baskets. In the end it cost under £15 inc the ikea baskets. A bargain I'd say, all savings going to my ever expanding crafting addiction.
